Kathy Caley
Older People Mental Health Commissioner
Brighton and Hove City PCT
With the exception of one year, when employed in the private healthcare sector, I have worked in the NHS since graduation. I have had a number of interesting and varied roles, which have provided me with the opportunity to develop an excellent understanding of the challenges encountered by patients and professional alike. My roles have included clinical audit, academic health research, primary care access improvement and community pharmacy development.
In early 2008, I left the bright lights of London to return to my university city of Brighton. In July 2008 I joint Brighton and Hove PCT in the role of Commissioner for Older People Mental Health services, with a specific focus on dementia.
Whilst retaining the responsibility for commissioning dementia services, I will also be involved in the commissioning of End of Life and Falls services for Brighton and Hove going forward.
