Frank Herrity has more than 30 years experience as a nurse, working in a wide range of health and social care settings. He is registered both as a general and mental health nurse, as well as a nurse educator.
Frank has extensive experience of working in Community Mental Health Teams, providing integrated health and social care for older people including those with dementia. Recently he has worked in a variety of roles in Intermediate Care, helping to develop the skills and understanding of staff who lack a specialist mental health background. This included the management of an intermediate care facility for older people with mental health needs (including dementia), which is located in a care home run by a charitable provider.
In 2008 he led the development of the Bristol & South Gloucestershire Older People’s Mental Health Liaison team, providing mental health expertise to 3 large acute hospitals in the Bristol area.
