Ben Amor
Liaison Team Manager
Royal United Bath
Since qualifying as a Registered Mental Health Nurse in 1996 I have worked predominantly with Older Adults with mental health problems in a variety of settings including acute care, rehabilitation and the private sector. I have been working as a Mental Health Liaison Nurse at the Royal United Hospital in Bath for nearly five years and recently became the team manager for the Older Adult Liaison service within the hospital, which covers Bath, North East Somerset and parts of Wiltshire.
The team provides assessment and advice for staff and carers of Older Adults with mental health problems, in house training and referral on to secondary specialist services. I am a member of the Dementia Strategy Group within the hospital and the lead for dementia training. My particular interests are raising awareness about dementia and other mental health issues and improving the care of those with mental health problems by developing positive attitudes through both formal and informal learning.
